Mexican sacred heart embossed with a central embossed heart. It is painted and patinated in old turquoise. Ex-voto is the Latin contraction of ex-voto suscepto which means “according to the vow made”.
This object was placed in places of worship following a wish or in gratitude for a grace obtained. Nowadays, they are hung on the walls of houses as protective amulets.
